Elder Jonathan Popp - Week 2 MTC

Alright Wow! sooooo i cant believe how fast time is going here! Im pretty much done with my 2nd week! We had some changes go on here at the mtc! My P-days changed from thursdays to mondays now! The whole mtc has now switched over to the "Pilot Program" which we " the germans" already have been doing! It is basically set up how you would do things in the mission field. We go to gym at 6:35 and we are in classes after! We have 3 Untersuchers (investigators), yes they turned out to be our teachers but it is still pretty cool because we are teaching in german and they give us feedback on our work. My teachers Names are Bruder Nauman, Bruder Bangerter, and Schwester Christopher (she will be leaving next week, So she will be outta the teaching picture!) Its funny how, when i was in highschool i was the goofy guy outta the bunch but, here im like a book worm haha! I joke alot, ALOT! but im very serious in my studies because i wanna teach in german fluently! haha I play alot of basketball and volleyball in gym time still! cept now i run 2 miles before i start playing. Im noticing im able to stay awake longer and focus better. I havent had trouble waking up on time because of all the jobs I'v held and because of seminary. I didnt expect the MTC to be like this but it is awesome! Im having fun and am learning so much Its rediculous!

Well i sent off Trevor Tonks last night! he is officially now flying to Chile! He is awesome he gave me alot of support here. Its awesome to have so many friends in the MTC! Iv been destroying my preach my gospel book because i want to know what im talking about when i go into teach lessons. The german language is tough. The way you talk for example in english you would say "believe you god?' haha its pretty funny, but im starting to understand the gramatics.

We had a speaker sunday on easter. His name was Stephen B. Allen. He is hilarious! he is the film director for the churches commercials and movies the put out! so we watched alot of commercials! it was awesome!

So i wanna thank all of you who have been emailing me back and writing me! It means alot because it gives me motivation! I love all of you and i hope all of you are doing well! Ill be sending some pictures home pretty soon so you can see whats happening here!

Ich liebe dich

Elder Jonathan Popp - Week 1 MTC

Hey Everyone!
Well i have officially survived my first week! It is crazy how fast it flew by haha It is pretty tough here! we literally started teaching our Untersucher (Investigator) on our 2nd day in german. Its crazy! i find my self praying pretty much every second for help haha. My german is coming along real well! it is hard but im starting to understand the grammer of it and how their sentence structure is! So we had a devotional speaker tuesday night! It was awesome Elder Richard G. Scott came and talked to us and gave an awesome talk! We were all suprised that a quorum of the Twelve came and spoke. My german is improving faster than i thought. My knowledge of the gospel is growing as well. Before i go to bed a read a little bit from the book " Jesus the Christ" it has a whole new look on christ life and what he did its awesome! The food here is awesome but it is very unhealthy haha. You can get fat here real quick so i try to watch what im eating! We get an hour a day besides sundays and p-days for working out or playing sports. I like to play basketball. Its pretty relaxing and i do play some volleyball here but everyone sucks so its not fun. Well I didnt expect that the MTC worked this way! We teach alot! i mean alot! we teach people twice a day, and then the rest were  studying german and the gospel. I can already bear my testimony, meet people, pray, ask questions, ect. in german! its amazing how much you learn in a week! Me and my companion taught our investigator last night about the plan of salvation. It was pretty cool. I drew out a picture of the plan of salvation and translated it into german so he could understand.  Its hard to speak german to them when you dont know much, but i can totally understand what they are saying when they speak. So iv seen Trevor Tonks, Kyle Lefevre and Kyle Gibson. I see trev and kyle gibson alot not so much kyle. but i gotta tell you these guys i consider my brothers, same with others out in the field nathan, ben, derek, tanner. They really lift my spirit up when i see them or hear from them. They all have that heart of the lion and it helps me alot. Ich bin dankebar fur meine Familie und meine freunds! Ich liebe meine family und Ich leibe sie(you all) lol. I miss all of you. letters are on there way as well lol WRITE ME!
